We worked with Director Josh Herum to create the world he had in his headWe managed all audio post for this 25-minute film. From Sound Design, to score, mixing and mastering, we were lucky to have a hand in such a fun film with up and coming DP/director Josh Herum. For the score and sound design, we took inspiration from earthy, rustic, and lived-in films and video games. The goal was to create a film that felt relatable, yet foreign. Gary and John used lots of facial expressions and silence to communicate on top of their dialogue, and we used that to our advantage when filling the spaces with music (or silence).While we had a good amount of creative choice, director Josh Herum did a great job expressing what he was looking for in regards to world-building. It was a lot of fun building tension in a few different scenes to hopefully elevate the viewers guesses on the plot and ending as the film rolls. The wood-chopping confrontation scene between the two main characters, in particular, was exciting to create for.
